The Lions Club of Rutherford is an organization that serves the community in so many ways, including providing free vision screenings, supporting non-profit organizations such as the Kip Center, first responders such as the Rutherford Police Department, providing large print books to the Rutherford Public Library, Relay for Life, and so much more.
"On Saturday, May 2, 2026, our club is hosting its 5th Annual GREAT DUCK DERBY. This family event will include many activities for the children as well as three Duck Races. Those interested will “adopt” a duck for $5, or a Quack Pack (6 ducks) for $25. The plastic ducks will be released into a waterway along W. Pierrepont Avenue (by Lincoln Woods) racing to the finish line. Prizes will be awarded to the adoptive parents of 30 lucky ducks (10 prizes per race), " explained Lions Club Event Coordinator, Laura O'Connor.

This year almost $3,000 In prizes will be awarded and each race will have ten winners. The event begins at 1 pm and the race times are: 2 pm, 3 pm, and 4 pm.
All are invited to participate In this family fun day on May 2nd, with a rain date of May 3rd.
