2019 Senior Olympics with Rec Dept

Every year, Rutherford Senior Citizens (age 60 and above) have the chance to participate in the Senior Olympics through the Rutherford Rec Department. This year, the Senior Olympics will be held in Pequannock on Wednesday, June 5, 2019. (Rain Date is Thursday, June 6, 2019). Participants must be available on both dates.


In 2018, Rutherford Seniors took Home the BRONZE in the Tri-County Sr. Citizen Olympics, proudly trained by Donna Kolich. Charlie Gunn received the "Spirit Award." Several members took home medals and this year they are committed to bringing HOME the GOLD!


The Rutherford Senior Olympics team will have their first practice on Monday, May 6, 2019 from 1:30-2:30pm at Tamblyn Field Civic Center . Please wear comfortable clothing and footwear. Participants will be practicing on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 1:30pm – 2:30pm at Tamblyn Field Civic Center, 30 Woodland Avenue. When the weather is warmer practice will be held at Memorial Park, across from the field house on Monona Avenue.


All participants will be asked practice corn hole, tee ball, soccer goal kick, golf putting, ladder toss golf, and chicken toss. It is not required that participants stay for the entire practice time.

The fee is $5.00 per participant.
