Unveiling of New Plan for Memorial Park

At the Mayor and Council Meeting on Monday, September 25th, Senator Paul Sarlo and Assemblyman Clinton Calabrese unveiled the conceptual rendering for field upgrades to Memorial Park. They also presented a visual of the check for the $5 million dollars secured by Senator Sarlo, Assemblyman Calabrese, and Assemblyman Gary Schaer for these important upgrades.

Councilwoman Christie Del-Rey Cone, Lauren Mullahey, Olivia Hadrava, Reagan Hadrava, Councilman Ray Guzman, Council President Stephanie McGowan, Assemblyman Clinton Calabrese, Mayor Frank Nunziato, Senator Paul Sarlo, Councilwoman Susan Quatrone, Councilwoman Maria Begg-Roberson, Councilman Matt Cokeley, Former Councilman Tom Mullahey, and Angelica Mullahey.

Senator Sarlo and Assemblyman Calabrese spoke of the vision of the current Mayor and Council, as well as former Councilman Tom Mullahey, who were passionate about the need to secure the necessary funding for the "renaissance and renovation of Memorial Field". Senator Sarlo commended all of these individuals for their efforts to ensure equity for all Rutherford athletes by making sure that the girls' softball and soccer teams finally have their own fields.


Assemblyman Calabrese spoke about how fantastic it felt to be able to attend the meeting and present the check for the renovation of Memorial Park. He spoke of how much he appreciates the Mayor and Council who continue to, "move the Borough of Rutherford forward."

Any concern about parking? The facility is designed for multiple events and activities, but is challenged when that, or major events take place.
