Blues and Brahms Chamber Music Saturday, June 1 @ 6:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Enjoy a cocktail with our open bar while listening to Blues and Brahms. We bring together five of the region’s excellent chamber musicians for a fusion evening of the Blues of W.C. Handy and Jelly Roll Morton as well as Johannes Brahms’ late masterpiece, the Clarinet Quintet op. 115. Gershwin’s Lullaby ties together the worlds of blues and classical music, and Clarinetist Mark Dover who is at home in both concert halls and jazz clubs leads us on the journey. Violinists Francesca DePasquale and Brendan Speltz, violist William Frampton, and cellist Andrew Yee reunite for a reprise of their successful 2017 tour that mashed jazz with classical, and this time focus on the blues due to popular demand. You’ll learn about both types of music and the people who wrote it, and hear our brand new W.C. Handy blues arrangements.

Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 6:30 pm – 10 pm, at the Williams Center for the Arts.

Due to BCB Bank’s generous sponsorship, Blues and Brahms is now a free event. Ticket reservations may be made here: Blues and Brahms Free Tickets
