Rutherford Kicks Off the Holiday Season

On Saturday, November 28th, a Holiday Float sponsored by BCB Bank made its way down many streets throughout the Borough of Rutherford. Since it was not possible for the Borough to have its traditional Holiday parade held every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, the Float was an exciting replacement that brought a lot of joy to both children and adults. Cliffhanger Productions presented characters, such as Elsa and Olaf, Santa, and the band Luke and the Troublemakers played as the float weaved up and down the streets of Rutherford. The float was accompanied by fire engines, ambulances, and police cars that signaled the arrival of Santa and his friends.

Due to the current pandemic situation, the tree lighting was held outside the Rutherford Public Library with just the participants on the float and recorded. The video was posted on the Borough of Rutherford Facebook page and on the Borough website. Click here to view the video.

Despite the strange circumstances, the Borough of Rutherford’s Mayor and Council and Cliffhanger Productions found ways to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season and along with the Rutherford Recreation Department will continue to do so throughout the month of December.
