As a way to celebrate the Fourth of July, the Borough of Rutherford has carried on the tradition of the Baby Parade the weekend before the holiday for ninety-three years. Each year, families from the community come up with creative floats and costumes for their young children to wear in the Parade that begins in front of Rutherford High School and travels to Lincoln Park. At Lincoln Park, the parade's sponsor, Lightbridge Academy, the Mayor and Council, Recreation Director Pat Bonner, the Recreation Department's Administrators Janice Guzman and Sandi Maslag, and the judges all waited for the arrival of the parade participants.
As in years past, there were costumes of all kinds celebrating America and some fun American traditions.
