The Shade Tree Commission is excited to host this year's Annual TreeFest in Lincoln Park once again. It will take place on Saturday, April 26th, from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm. This festival, celebrating the importance of trees and Arbor Day, is a family-friendly community gathering with activities suited for all ages.

This is Rutherford spoke with Frank Sasso, Shade Tree Commission Chairperson about this year's TreeFest that he organized, along with assistance from the members of the Shade Tree Commission and Kim Bogosian, Communications Director for the Borough.

This year's TreeFest will include three new bands: RadioCon, Aiken Barker, and Tree Oh!. Frank Sasso was excited to discover the band Tree Oh! since their name is synonymous with the trees that will be celebrated during the day. Other entertainment will include a Magic Show at 3 pm, balloon art, face painting, and a bouncy house. There will also be tables where children can plant seeds in their cups of soil. Jennifer Layne Acupuncture and Wellness will have a Plant Your Own Succulent Bar, where any donations will be collected for the Rutherford Food Pantry.

Several new food trucks will be present, including Cas' Pierogi, a Pierogi truck that serves kielbasa, pierogies, and other Polish specialties. Little Sicilian will serve rice balls of all varieties, potato croquettes, raviolis, and desserts. Ice Cream Creations, a Rutherford Chamber of Commerce member, will also be there.

The Rutherford PBA will host a Beer Garden, and the Rutherford Fire Department will be grilling some favorites. Giveaway items such as bracelets that say, "Every day is Arbor Day", will be distributed by the host of the event, the Shade Tree Commission.
