Two nine year old twin girls, McKayla and McKenzie, are young Rutherford entrepreneurs who have developed their own business, Three Sisters Lemonade. Their staff include their parents and their three year old sister, Madilyn. While visiting local festivals and other town events, community members might be able to spot their pink tent and pink signs. This is Rutherford interviewed McKayla and McKenzie and their mom, Jessica.
TIR: What have you enjoyed about watching them develop and implement this idea?
Jessica Branca: Seeing their excitement about it and watching them work together as a team, dividing responsibilities and helping each other out. Also, watching them gain confidence as they greeted strangers and explained their products.
TIR: How have you assisted them in the process and set up?
JB: Yes, it is a legit business my husband and I started for them, its an LLC and we are the owners but we set this all up for them and in hopes they will continue with it as they get older - they have put in a ton of work to help make it run smoothly and have done a great job!
This is Rutherford also interviewed McKayla and McKenzie to find out more about this unique lemonade stand.
TIR: Why did you want to start selling lemonade?
McKenzie: Because we want money.
McKayla: Because we want to show everyone our skills
TIR: Who came up with your menu? What is on your menu?
McKayla and McKenzie: Mommy came up with our menu. We have lemonade, flavored lemonade, one special event flavor for 4th of July we did red, white, and blue lemonade, cotton candy, and water.

TIR: How did you decide on the name for your lemonade stand?
McKayla and McKenzie: Because we are three sisters (McKayla, McKenzie & Madilyn).
Jessica explained, "Madilyn can’t do the lemonade yet but she does have her own free tattoo station that was a huge hit at the last event, she had a line of her own!! And handled it like a champ!"
TIR: Who came up with the colors, graphics and logo designs?
McKayla and McKenzie: Daddy with the approval of Mommy.

TIR: Where do you set up your lemonade stand and sell your products?
McKayla and McKenzie: Special events in Rutherford and the Rutherford Farmers' Market on select dates. We are just starting so we will see as we go.
TIR: What is your favorite part of selling yummy drinks and treats to people in your community?
McKayla: My favorite part is shaking & punching the straw hole.
McKenzie: Seeing smiles on our friends' faces after they take a sip.
