Rutherford United Methodist Church Yard Sale

Rutherford United Methodist Church, located at 56 West Passaic Avenue in Rutherford has a congregation that has remained active throughout the pandemic. Under the leadership of Reverend Heeyoung Lim, who took over in July 2020 during a very challenging time. Reverend Lim was already the Pastor at Lyndhurst United Methodist Church and has continued there. Recently, he became the Pastor of Passaic United Methodist Church. Reverend Lim has the difficult task of being the leader of three churches while raising two young boys. He also speaks three languages and has been named a "tech genius" by members of his congregation.

This Labor Day, Monday, September 6th, the Rutherford United Methodist Church will host a Yard Sale to assist in raising funds during a time when many churches are financially challenged. The sale will take place on the lawn of the church from 9 am until 4 pm.

The coordinator of this year's Yard Sale, Linda Telesco, explained, "The Labor Day Yard Sale at Rutherford United Methodist Church (RUMC) has been a tradition for over 10 years. It is an opportunity to offer affordable quality items to shoppers and also to extend the church outreach in our community and to those visiting our community. RUMC has been a part of the borough for over 140 years, and through events like the Labor Day Yard Sale, we offer friendship, service, and a helping hand to our neighbors and visitors."
