Rian Chowdhury Wins Northern Bergen County Math League

Rutherford High School is proud to announce that senior Rian Chowdhury has won the Group 5 Northern Bergen County Math League for the third year in a row. The Bergen County Math League is comprised of the top math students from each high school who compete in six meets per year. Rian has been a member of the Rutherford High School Math Team for all four years.

Rian will be attending Stevens Institute of Technology in the fall of 2020. He will be majoring in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Biochemical Engineering. He hopes to one day earn his Doctorate of Pharmacy.

In addition to his academic prowess, Rian is an accomplished musician. He plays many different instruments, including guitar, bass, and piano. He is in a local band named Classifyde. The band released their debut EP, “Classifyde”, on March 13th; it is on Spotify, Apple Music, Youtube, and other streaming platforms. The band recorded a lot of their songs at home, and Rian produced their music himself using free software.

Rian would like to thank the RHS Math Department, especially Mrs. DeLia, for supporting him throughout these years.
