Artwork lined many of the hallways of Rutherford High School and was arranged throughout the Media Center during the Festival of the Arts at Rutherford High School on Wednesday, May 17th. Talented students had their artwork, ceramics, photographs, and textile creations on display for their families, friends, staff members, and the community to view. Some of the teachers at Rutherford High School also exhibited their photography, glasswork, paintings, and ceramics.

Additionally, students who are involved in the Music and Theater Department at Rutherford High School showcased their talents by playing a number of different instruments and singing duets, solos, and with small groups. There was even some impromptu piano playing and singing.

The Foods classes also prepared some sweet treats for visitors to enjoy.

Mrs. Stephanie Castellano (Ceramics Teacher), Ms. Veronica Grillo (Art Teacher), Ms. Patricia Blanchard (Vocal Music Teacher), Mr. Joseph Cavezza (Instrumental Music Teacher), Mrs. Stephanie Baumann (Textiles Teacher), Ms. Robyn Cafiero (Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher), and Mr. Steven Mett (Photography Teacher) worked with their students throughout the school year to help them prepare for this special event. The teachers and students also worked together to set up the art show and rehearse for their performances.

This well attended event gave students and the staff the opportunity to share their artistic talents and gave the community an inside look at how the arts are fostered, encouraged, and supported at Rutherford High School and in the Rutherford School District.
