Recently the Park family opened a new restaurant, ONDUBU, at 73 Park Ave. The Grand Opening took place on Thursday, September 17th with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Mayor Frank Nunziato, James Rizzo, Bobby Wong (owner), and the Park family all joined in the celebration.
The word “dubu” is the Korean word for tofu, which is made from soybean curds. The menu at Ondubu includes bibimbap as well. Bibim means mixing various ingredients and Bap refers to rice. The ttukbaegi is the unglazed earthenware pot that retains heat to keep the food warm. Bulgogi translates to “fire meat” in Korean. It is the marinated sliced beef or pork served with many of the dishes.
