Ersalesi Scholarship Fund Seeks Local Family Recipes

by Kim Bogosian

The Betty and Buddy Ersalesi Scholarship Fund is compiling a book of local family recipes as a fundraiser and is currently seeking submissions.

"I was inspired by a recipe book that my mother participated in at RCDN, back when I was in pre-school," explained Brian Ersalesi, who founded the scholarship fund in his parents' names. "Cooking is a great way to spend quality time with your kids, and the Betty and Buddy Fund likes to promote activities that encourage families to spend time together. I'm hoping we can compile a book of family recipes that have meaning and history as a way to fund more scholarships for local students. It would be a win/win."

According to their website, "We aim to have the cookbooks printed in time for the winter holiday season. They'll make great gifts! As with everything we do, 100% of all proceeds will benefit graduating seniors at Rutherford High School. When you submit, please give us a brief bio. Maybe you're a crossing guard, a PTA volunteer, a councilperson, a police officer, a teacher, an EMT, a scout leader, or a shop worker! It's not just about the food - it's about our community, too!"

Deadline to submit recipes is November 8th.
