This past Sunday, June 28th, the Rutherford Recreation department held its 94th Annual Baby Parade. This longstanding tradition welcomes all families with young children to participate in the parade demonstrating their American pride and their enthusiasm for the upcoming July 4th holiday.

The parade began on Elliot Place in front of Rutherford High School and traveled to Lincoln Park. Once they arrived at Lincoln Park, participants did two parade loops in front of a panel of judges who watched from the Hutzel Bandshell. Rutherford High School and community volunteers, Rutherford Recreation staff member Janice Guzman and Recreation Director Pat Bonner organized and directed the parade. Mayor Frank Nunziato, Council members Stephanie McGowan, Dennis Mazone, Ray Guzman, and Christie Del-Rey Cone were also in attendance. Council members Del-Rey Cone and Guzman were the masters of ceremony.
It was a challenging decision for the judges with so many creative entries, but after much deliberation, they determined the winners. See the list and photos below starting with the Grand Prize Winner.
