Jessica Maldonado and her husband, Norberto, were working in different fields right out of college. A close family friend was very deeply affected by the mortgage crisis of 2008 and fell victim to predatory lending. This inspired Norberto to be a force of change for good and he switched careers to become a mortgage lender. He worked hard to reach the top of the mortgage field and in 2017 Jessica and Norberto opened up their own branch.

Rutherford is where Jessica grew up and they knew it would be the right place for their new business. Jessica comes from a multi-generational of Rutherfordians and many of Jessica’s family members still call Rutherford home. Everytime their team closes a loan in Rutherford, they feel a connection with that family because they know how special Rutherford is to them.

Sistar Mortgage recently welcomed their newest high performing mortgage lender, Jeffrey Cheng, Norberto's lifelong best friend. Sistar Mortgage is literally one big happy family and they want their customers to feel a part of that. They even have an office mascot, the family’s beloved 16 year old dog, Pookah. She loves meeting clients at the office and brings much joy to the business.
